I like spinng gear for eels, but that is just my preference. I use a 1201m and it works real well. Annother stick i like for big eels is the 1363m, ill use it when im throwing big pencils at dusk and switch over to eels after dark, both rods have a wide weight range, the 1363 gets heavy after a while tho...
The great thing about the 1363, since its glass, is it has a nice parabolic bend and besides being amazing for pencils, you wont cast off eels very often.
