Usually the warmest water of the year is actually in the early part of September, that's why the funny fish show then, cept I haven't seen much of them either. I like that gold yellow butterfish metal. It catches.  |

They do seem to re-stage in early Sept...I've noticed that too. Late summer the first significant cold fronts seem to re-shuffle the deck and its time to spread out again and look for their new residences. Not everywhere though - nothing is absolute.
I've got a few spots that are good in early Sept.
But then you'd have to cross the bridge and you'd be at risk of getting snatched by the troll - and then you'd have to spend the rest of the season at Phil & Ann's Sunset Motel in Charlestown....
