Have you guys that are using the saltiga's in the ditch found that you have been able to cast significantly further with the saltiga's than with the big emblem pro's, is it a durability issue, or both?

for the saltiga it's a back cap, $25-35 bucks + shipping for aftermarket... $65 + shipping for Daiwa's own..

If its going to cost that much, throw the reel away, and buy another reel!!
I got a couple of reels missing that cover also. I keep them covered up with
duck tape.

Not really. The Emblem will probably outcast a Saltiga, but the guts are nowhere near as strong. The Emblem also can't hold a tight drag setting as well as the Saltiga--tends to loosen as you fight a fish.

Plus, the Emblem has that PITA external bail trip. Have to make sure the bail's clear or it'll flip over. The Saltiga bail will never flip. If Slip hasn't had his flip over as hard as he throws, you have to figure it'll never happen to the average caster.

I swear some of his casts were landing 60 yards in front of me standing on the other side
