Usually i whisper to the eels before i hook them and tell them if fish have teeth, pull on the line 3 times and i will reel you back in fast... So far they haven't listened ...

LOL! As I sit at my keyboard after reading the replies, I laugh out loud and hope like hell you all enjoyed my private, most innermost thoughts regarding the eels I'm using for bait. Like the "Quickening" in the movie the Highlander, I could feel the crimes committed by the person in the past, now coming back to life as an eel and paying for his/her crimes as fishbait. Could it be late at night?, could I be tired?, what exactly did I do in college?, wait a minute, I went to college?

LOL is right, this is funny chit. the closing your eyes idea is good, I find it hard to let the fish take line when you see a big tail breach the service 10 yards off the rocks. all I want to do is set that damn hook!
