The shooting stars were incredible. Some very bright white. An amazing site. Looked almost apocalyptic. I saw some last night as well around 2 am.

Standing on the water, casting your bread
While the eyes of the idol with the iron head are glowing
Distant ships sailing into the mist
You were born with a snake in both of your fists while a hurricane was blowing

Saw one at dusk Friday to the ENE low moving down towards the horizon. Thought I was seeing things.

Back in my astronomy days we used to go out during the peak times and count them, you see a lot more when actually paying attention.
You've gotta love it when one is so big it casts shadows and you can see the trail for moments after.

I almost ran into a channel marker around 4:30 AM this morning as I had my eyes on the skys. Lots of bright white shooting stars has I headed down the Bay.
56 degree water. Marked tons of fish in the deep channels. Water dropped 4 degrees since Thursday. Might be time to pull the boat and get back in the surf.
