I haven't read the article yet, but I can tell you that nobody has any idea how to fix the oceans. Current problems are going to get dramatically worse with the expected population growth. Throw in sea level rise and warming and it gets worse. We "earthians" are going to have a hard time doing what it takes even if the solution is obvious.

No, no, no. we’re 30… 30, three zero.

Ok I read it.

"The researchers called for new marine reserves, better management to prevent overfishing and tighter controls on pollution."

We have known these things for well over 30 years and we have done almost nothing. There is very little political incentive. Ask the fat loudmouth drug addict on the radio about this and he will spew his environmentalist wackos bit and millions of people will nod. The EPA has stopped following the advice of its own scientific boards. Try to get reductions in harvest and even Uncle Teddy lines up against it. I know what we think about mpas . The populations on the cost are expanding rapidly and the marshes are disappearing...
Well anyway... I gotta go fishing so I can get my 50 before it happens

Oh yeah, HOw'd the ASMFC do handling the bunker and eels

No, no, no. we’re 30… 30, three zero.

Not being one to stoke a debate but this is a pretty strong statement that we should have marine protected areas. After reading an article on this today I'd stand behind saving my kids future if it meant an area that there was no fishing etc.
