The Bruins
If Tim Thomas stumbles again do you think it will be the end of the line for him in boston. Does this guy realize he is supposed to stay in the net!

I grew up absolutely loving hockey. Played the sport from 5 years old to early 30's. Boston was a hockey town first and foremost when I was a kid. The original 6. My idol was #4 and was a young teen during the Big Bad Bruins. I never missed a game for many years. I yern for that style of hockey but it has changed to something that just bores me to tears and will never go back so they have lost me forever. I can't say I have watched a whole hockey game in a decade or more, only the olympic's or an occasional frozen four. Really too bad to see the Bruins struggle to be a legit team. If it wasn't for the dedicated hockey fan base here hockey would have hit the highway a long time ago here. Unfortuntly Jacobs knows that and only spends what he has too to fill the seats. Like stated before it is a buisness now not a sport like it was years ago. Who the hell really cares what I think.

Going into the season, the biggest question mark was the goaltending, and it is quite obvious why. Thomas is all over the ice, out of position, i dont know why they signed him to a 3 year deal, at the beginning of this year. On the other hand, the 3rd period last night, against the Capitols, was the most exciting hockey i have seen the B's play in 5 years. They played with desperation, in the third period, and played very well. They need to play like that, the whole game.

those were exciting games to watch , you just never knew what was going to happen next. but now........a guy gets high sticked and he checks for blood. F the powerplay take him out.
the ref's need to let them hit..they call too much.

Met him in a bar. Built like a fire hydrant. Tough as nails. Miller, Wiensink, O'Rielly, Johnathan, Neely. I loved them all. My kind of hockey players. Almost forgot Cashman he had some great fights too.

Goaltending and defense were 2 big glarring holes to be filled and they did basically nothing. Paul Mara?????? Give me a break! Bruins and the organization have a lot of work to do before I get excited about them. It's really sad, it's so hard to watch them. I wish they put more college hockey on the tube. Go Friars!

I think the bruins actually have a good defence, they are just young, and need to get experience. Chara, and Stuart, they would be #1 defensemen on most teams, then throw in Alberts, whos big, and tough, but not alot of experience, same with Jurcina. Marra, i have not seen alot of his play, seems to be hot headed, and might hurt the team at the wrong time, but does play with attitude. The goaltending, on the other hand.......

Did you see these asses today?
They should have just not showed up, disappoint the fans as usual.
Said here before by someone "New management, new players, same old Bruins!"
These words are just too true.
Not giving up on them, just venting.
Besides, when I watch a game like the one today it just gets me heated and I end up outside after the game doing yard work. After todays game, my yard is clean of all leaves, grass is mowed for the last time and all furniture is put away.
If they play saturday like they did today I'll have to start cleaning someone else's yard to work off the anger.

Still worried about the goaltending?
11/28/06
Between blocked shots & missed shots & 45 saves(should have been 46) 72 total
Bullsh*t-kicked in goal.
Thomas was awesome last night.
Stood on his head.
When was the last time you heard that?
Toivenen as a backup?
Great goalie for a few games.
Just can't stay healthy. Look at his ankle and it breaks.
They have a prospect goalie they sent way down that is supposed to be the best in the world.
Forget the name.

There is a great read on espn.com on Don Cherry. The TEAM has been playing good the past couple of weeks, they all seem to to be skating hard, forcheck real good, and even backcheck...lol....that takes alot of pressure off the D, and the goalies....sok, do you think Thomas in a bona fide #1 in this league ? Just curious.

I think he finally realized he needs to stay close to the net. everytime he wanders or flops too far from the crease he gets himself in trouble. I wasn't around last week but I did see the highlight when he passed the puck to a player on toronto and then dove in front of the net. he has been staying upright and for him thats the key. As far as a #1 in the league ..I don't think so. he just happens to be our #1. hopefully he continues to play well, its much easier to watch when he's not flopping around like a bluefish.

Have been watching a few games lately and they have been exciting. I too miss the old style and Big-Bad-Bruins but I would not call todays hockey boring.
How about that save Thomas made last night! Fricken unbelievable! Stopped all of the extended shootout breakaways as well to give the B's the W.
