Just remember $ is relative
But if someone thinks that spending almost 10K on a reel is going to catch them more fish...

How is putting out this type of gear going to make our sport attractive to the person that is thinking about getting started? That is just silly cuz it isn't going to catch you any more or less fish in my eyes!!

I dunno, you walk into most fly shops and the racks are dominated by Temple Fork and the reel case by Tioga and Lamson. Good gear cheap. Ross' new premier reel has also gone down in price a bit over the model it replaces.
It's a good time to be into fly fishing, if you ask me. There's always going to be extremely high end products of questionsable value, as there has always been, and they WILL sell. Just in very small numbers.
Mid and low range priced products dominate the market now.

Pete, beign that you sell a lot of fly fishing gear, do you see any outstanding differences betweeen the stuff that most of the fishing population uses and this outragiously priced gear?
