I'll second that! I know from firsthand experience how difficult it is to get those right, quite an accomplishment, Chris.

Thanks guys, I would be glad to show but I figured it out with a specific lathe & attachments. To borrow a movie line "Abbynormal".
I have been trying to figuring how to with a "Normal" lathe but keep seeing potential probs so I dont know what to say. I can give the basic principle then maybe you can see something I dont.
One thing is for sure is there too much to it to explain here

Do it by eye. It is not too difficult. Lay out the rearward shape with a template, waste out most of it on a band saw, push it into the right sized sanding drum until even with the "brow" (you don't want to undercut the brow too much), then roll it and sand back to the layout lines, touch it up with a file. The difficult part is weighting them. This one has a tail weight and chin weight, ala Mr Pogey, but it doesn't swim as well as a Gibbs except at one specific retrieve speed. The next batch, waiting for paint, are weighted like the Gibbs, 1/4" slugs along the thru wire, all the way to the front hook hole. I'd love to get my hands on a Musso to see how he did it, and I think Pinchney also made one, though there's probably no chance of ever finding one of those.
