I think that a/c was flown by Lt. Carl Hayes, of Binghamton, NY. 61st fighter squad...P-47D...I might be wrong....but then again.....

Good eye. I couldn't make out an A/C porky enough at that angle...

Good Google:
Quote:
Littlefriends.co.uk Lt. Carl E Hayes, Binghampton, NY. 61st Fighter Squadron. P-47D 42-7860 HV-J “Chow Hound”. Although the name was never applied to the a/c., Lt Hayes had the artwork design prepared by the unit artist.
But in the case of this picture it was or that was a different aircraft...

Thanks Raven

Some good freshy fishing isn't too far from where I live, but to get the biguns you need to go out of state. Have a friend who goes (to TN) in the spring when they run in the rivers (and are heavy with eggs.) Numerous fish in the 50's with a personal best at 61.

John that is my father on his P-47 he flew in WW2 in Europe. We also have a short film clip from his wing camera on one of his missions. It took my brothers and me a long time to figure out the nose art. Yeah right.
