the lami gsb-series are moderate or medium action rods, not fast. most arra's are moderately fast. rainshadow su/sw-series blanks are fast. the mb1081m blank has little power in it's stock length and you cannot cast much more than 1.5 oz w/ it.

the gsb1201L is a slightly slower action rod compared to the gsb1201m. it almost has the feel of a glass rod, but lighter as it is graphite. it is a very durable rod. it is an excellent pencil popper rod. stock, the rod really tapers off at 3oz and maybe 2.5 oz. cutting off the tip of this rod would make it a nice eel or plugging rod. how much you cut off depends on how heavy you plan on throwing and what you desired overall length is to be. after finding your ideal tip power, cut a little of the butt to make the length you want. a few inches off the butt wont change the action of this rod, but cutting a foot off would. as always, cutting a factory blank voids the factory warrenty.

think about what you typical or average lure range is. is it usually around 2 oz? is it usually around 2.5-3 ounce? that little difference can determine your ideal rod.
