This notion that Islam can't live alongside or within the rest of the world is hooey, and it's not supported by history.

The problems with Islam we have today, and we do have some very serious problems with a small percentage of Muslims, is geopolitical in nature rather than religious. There is a relationship for sure, but the root cause is not religion.

Perhaps the single worst mistake you and I could make is to blame Islam for these issues as it only pushes more moderates to the violent fringe.

The only idiological war we should be waging against rogue Muslim nations is economic...for that is the real religion that binds all nations for the coming future.

Spence it is a pointed comment based on the fact that even the so-called peace loving Islamists wont stand up to the fanatics/extremists, and in fact they make a point of donating publically to Sadr and the others to further thier causes knowing full-well the world will know because all of those donations are tracked. A religon becomes nothing but a cult when a few tell the masses what to do and when to do it. The fanatics/terrorists were extremely smart in that they saw a built-in army of terrorist that they didn't have to recruit, just waiting to be asked to join the extremists movement who were standing, kneeling or sitting in the aisle/pews/floor in the mosques. Millions upon millions of ignorant uneducated people waiting for anyone to come along and offer them something, anything.

As uneducated as they are they all know what a Benjamin is!
