Just a different point of view, not crappin', and here's why; I saw two bidders I Know and have fished with. Both of them would be fishing the chit out of those plugs. A plug collection such as Capesam's or Flap's is one to be admired for, among other things, it's history. That is when it is similar to vintage cars and rare stamps. But to me, a plug that I'm gonna fish, that risks being lost on each cast, is a commodity, not a collectible. And given the craftsmanship that has been demonstrated here, and the availability of the duplicator, the price was higher than I would have been willing to pay. No one needs to explain or justify their purchases to me, so I hope I didn't ruffle anyone's feathers. Hell, I've been told That I must have overpaid because I fish a Van Staal. And when I do someday purchase a center console T-top, someone will tell me I overpaid too...
For the record, The many plugs I hang and admire in my family room give me enjoyment just in knowing the craftsmen from here who created them. Most wil never be fished, some will become presents, none will be seen on an auction site.

Vintage plugs are like artwork. I have some that I'll never fish, for fear of losing them, and some I'll fish just because I love to watch them swim. Even if there aren't any fish. I guess it's an obsession, but it's a nice one. Distracts me from listening to the voices.

Actually, I don't think you can bid on your own item unless you come up with a different account, and I haven't.

Vineyardblues, thanks for looking and stating that you didn't see the shill bidding going on.

Tagger. I haven't seen a Pink 3oz Musso darter either and thats why the high reserve. If it doesn't sell, I still end up paying fees to Epay, but I put the high reserve because if it doesn't sell for enough, its not worth parting with.

Glad a few people are checking it out.
