Unhappy anbody see-

the 20/20 program last night on Camden, NJ the poorest and most crime ridden city in America? The Program showed the effects of the drugs, crime and poverty of kids ages 4 to 17. It wasn't pretty.
Any thoughts or comments on the subject?

Didn't see it. But this stuff breaks my heart. Ruining kids lives and raising another generation where 90% get dragged into the same despair... Something has to change because it is a growing "thing" consuming more and more people...

Sad. Very sad Dave. Breaks your heart to see innocent children have to live like that. I can understand adults taking there own life in their own hands but kids.How can we expect anyone to amount to anything coming from that situation. Told my 6 year old to count her blessings. Shouldn't take place in this day and age in a country that is so prolific a food producer. Why are our priorities so askew in this country to allow that to happen in our own backyard? I don't know about you but it makes me feel kind of guilty, for lack of a better word. P.

Thumbs down

i didn't see it.... no

but when it comes to drugs..... the war on drugs has been going on
futively for 40 years, and until they take the profitability out of the whole scenario
they will continue to completely loose the battle.

this is Richard Nixon's (and all the following presidents)
legacy -> blame them.

Imho, it will continue until the family becomes a unit again,and a generation is willing to give up their lives to better their kids lives. Throwing more money at the problem, has not and will not work.There is no excuse in our country to have children without food or housing. Problem is,many times food stamps are traded at 50cts on the dollar for booze, drugs and cigs, alot never going to where it was intended, and from what i have seen, public housing goes down hill very quickly.
People getting the aid ,need to use it as it was intended. .

It was quite obvious that the boy who made it, did so because he was raised properly by the father. The father couldn't work his factory job anymore due to a heart condition, but was up every morning at 5:30 doing the kids wash and getting them off to school.Where his mother was i have no idea, but a single parent family seems to be the norm, and alot of times it's the grandmother who raises the kids the best she can.Where are the parents?

Until people take responsibility and make the sacrafices needed to raise the children they have brought into this world, it will go on forever. My brother teaches in the inter city of Baltimore. Many of the kids don't like weekends or vacations as they don't want to go home with all it's problems. They rather stay in school where they feel safe. Now that is sad, very sad.

Are there serious problems with addiction, mental health and the feeling you'll never get out, yup. There are programs to help, but until people make it there personal responsibility to use them to help themselves, nothing will change.

Ya P. i feel very guilty too, but aside from mentoring and helping where you can, it's up to the family to take responsibility for their own. Meantime, it breaks my heart and makes me angry to see these little innocent children being thrown on a scrap heap.
