Fishing from The Kayak in close around the reefs in the darkness and seeing the white top of a set wave closing in and feathering about 10 yards outside where I am. Grabbing the Paddle dropping the rod in the holder and saying "please god". That gets the adrenaline going like nothing else.

Also reeling the last few feet in with a 9'' Sluggo and just before lifting it out of the water a big bass blows up on it. Its like someone threw a 30 lb dog in the water. Better than coffee!

All kidding aside with the girl answers I gave previously thier have been three times when I was startled, heart pounded, while fishing. First time was when fishing a jetty just before dawn when a huge bluefish hit a Spoffords Ballistic Missile that was splashing across the surface. Landed that one. Second time while fishing a pier not far from where the first time occured I was fishing a very heavy, 5m 10" rod using mucho bait on a # 10 stainless mustad, when something took the bait and I couldn't turn the fish with 40# test line. I was either going to loose the rod or cut the line, I cut the line after about 15 minutes of holding on for dear life in a gale with the dock swaying back and forth in the wiind. Third time while fishing on the south side of the vineyard one morning looking for albies when a fish hit my deadly #^&#^&#^&#^& and when it did a splash happened like a boulder dropped from the sky. Just as I was starting to loosen the drag the fish straightened the hook and that was it.

One more thing, I am startled everytime a rat as big as a cat runs across my footwear when fishing.

As mush as I like fishing alone I still prefer when a good buddy and me are kicking ass. Nothing beats being in the middle of a blitz and getting doubles every cast and having a little tourney to see who can get the most.
