I don't believe that there will be any charge for this. I think that the intent is to get a handle on how many people actually fish in each state???

Paul I hope your right but Ct is not getting any funding because of the drop in license sales so their excuse is to get a saltwater fishing license. What they are not mentioning is that of the license money is going into the general fund. This BS of tax cuts is what causes the government to raise fees , they got to get the money somewhere.

yeesh. still trying to catch our collective breaths here in CT heading off anti-gun legislation (one-gun-a-month, ballistic fingerprinting, licensing of ammo dealers) and now we gotta deal with this crap?

i personally don't mind paying for a saltwater license ... so long as the proceeds go to DEP coffers, and not the general fund.

also, from a political perspective a saltwater license could finally provide a headcount of recreational angling participants - definitely ammo that can be used against the commercial interests.

i'm waiting to hear back from ct sportsmen (our state sportsman's lobbying organization) on where they stand on this issue.
