There's a kabillion things you can do on impact.
Let it sit.
Twitch it.
Retreive it.
Rip it.

Mix it up, use them all, find what turns the fish on if they're hittin short on impact THAT time.

There is no 100% 'works every time' technique for every condition and every day.
