Took my 12 year old son to see them in December. I think they were actually better than the real Floyd live. He loved it too.
Saw the "Aussies" in a fairly small venue in C.T. I wasn't expecting much figured just another tribute band. Man was I surprised the light show , the female backup singers when they preformed The Great Gig In The Sky and the giant pink kangaroo. Its a show that should not be missed even by diehard Floyd fans
Ah shucks how do you describe Pink Floyd in 1 word?
breathtaking

I've only seen the Aussies on TV but if WGBH is to believe (they always play Assuie Floyd in fundraisers) then many of the original roadies travel with the OZ and they have the stage and gear (lazers / props) from the Pulse tour...
my dad and i have seen the Aussie PF on CPTV a few times, and almost bought tickets, theyre really good, played at Roger Water's b'day party few years back too -- he said they were good in his book But whenever we see them on TV, we turn the lights off, and put it on surround sound.
Wasajigifying -[ was - a - jig-i-fy-ing] - the concept of not knowing what the hell your saying.
Pink Floyd ,,, talk about blazing your own trail .. We used to play that album with all the drums and amps on the cover .. ummagumma or somethin like that ,, got it in the album pile .. We called it space music ..no real tunes ,,lots of effects .. Just a background to our silliness.. I remember Meddle was the first time I realized "hey "There good .. rest is history .. "Dark side of the Moon " forget about it .. Great stuff Katie ..
Greatest band ever. Love to listen on the headphones. Get the "Pulse DVD" and enjoy. Long for a reunion.
Here's a little craziness I penned awhile back. Pink Floyd Fans pick out the song titles.
“WISH YOU WERE HERE"
“Hey you,” said a voice from the darkest corner of the parking lot. “There are some nice fish down at the light,” the voice continued. Jack Diamond and I walked over toward the unknown angler hoping he would keep talking. The mysterious caster mentioned he had been spooled by a good fish and was heading home to get his spare. “Is there anybody out there”, I asked. He replied that he hadn’t seen anyone and figured there was nobody home.
Jack and I hopped over the wall and scrambled toward the lighthouse. “Run like hell,” I told him as I almost tripped over another brick from the wall. "One of these days I’m going to take a header tripping over that brick." We had to hurry as there was not much time left in the tide.
Our high hopes were now soaring. As we waded out to our rock perches I could see a few neck-lights about 100 yards down the coast toward Naps. It was just us and them on the rocks tonight.
I clipped on my new pink Floyd Roman Nike plug and let fly my first cast. This rare plug cost me lots of money. I didn’t want to lose it. I hooked up immediately and the cow began to take lots of line. “Don’t leave me now,” I uttered under my breath as she headed toward Fishers Island. Jack yelled that he was also onto a good bass.
We both landed our hook-ups some time later. I had a real nice fish around 50 but Jack’s had to go 60. “Shine on you crazy Diamond”, I said as I shook his hand. “This has to be the happiest day of our lives”, Jack said as we were now very content and feeling comfortably numb.

DZ, who knew you were hip to "the greatest band ever!" To me only Jimi Hendrix Experience & Rush are even close! (I count 13 songs in your fishy poetic tribute btw)...
If only I knew!-- I would've brought my pre- Meddle live Bootleg tape, featuring 10+ minute versions of "Fat Old Sun" and "Careful with that Axe Eugene!" or my VHS tape of "Live at Pompeii" (same era) to the Porkchop last Nov. No better way to de- compress after night's surf sessions than PF music!
Though to me... "The Final Cut" was their last Album-- there is no PF without all 4 guys! (Sid B. was obviously expendable). "Learning to Fly" was such a bad song, the "new Floyd" lost me right there!...
For those looking to learn more... I rank their albums greatness- wise as follows: 1) Meddle 2) The Wall 3) Dark Side of the Moon 4) Wish You Were Here 5) Animals 6) Ummagumma (sp.?) 7) Atom Heart Mother 8) The Final Cut 9) Piper at the Gates of Dawn 10) Obscured by Clouds
