1. clouser
2. Large 12" hackle squid/mantis shrimp w/rattle (all light versions of )brown, olive and yellow. plus some purple dna flash. This fly can be tied as a (broken back) short wire to tail hook
3. Rhody Flatwing - sparse (chartruse flash)

parker23- I would be interested in seeing a picture of your mantis shrimp pattern, or getting the recipe. Thanks, Ron

a) Schoolie: olive and white clouser with a little flash and a small dumbell head with red or yellow eyes, also any good squid pattern, white or pink.
b) Big Fish: all White or All white snake fly as well as flatwing decievers in withe and blue or white and bright green with flash.
c) Old faithful: Popovick poppers when fish are on the surface, just simple but it's a blast.
Tight Lines

1) Clouser - mainly olive over white ... good for schoolies and pretty much everything else
2) Angus and other deerhead patterns (ie Dahlberg Diver) ... fishing on the surface, love seeing the explosions on them, when fishing deep on fast sinking lines, they are very productive ... love 'em and you can tie them in any color pattern you desire, so it's fun ...
3) Rhody Flatwing or Clouser again and the fifty fifty clouser too ...

1) Pretty much anything in the spring but I found that bigger flies sort out the better fish from amongst the "sprats". Bob Popovics' hollow-fleye has sorted out a few nice keepers for me this past couple of seasons
2) Big flatwing after dark (Abrames L&L Special 8-10 inches or bigger)
3) General Practitioner - great shrimp pattern and a favorite for summer backwaters after dark. Even works over eel grass under bright sun too.

1) I like bunny flies (chartreuse or white day, black night), sometimes chartreuse over white clousers, blue over white deceivers
2) Spun deer hair head angus-type flies or large deceivers, razzle-dazzles.
3) Ray's Fly olive over white, large black deceivers, bunny flies

Cape Cod Kid,
Try Brian Owens' velvet eel out there on the Cape. Great fly.
