I just test wrapped/taped an RS SU1088. Not the best eel rod, but it will do. I was able to effectively cast as low as 1 oz. I went up to 4 w/ no problem. For 2-3 the thing is a rocket launcher.

It is a very fast rod. NOT good for pencils. It has ALLOT of @ss though so it should be a very good nightime plug stick that can throw eels in a pinch.

The RS SW 1088 was a littlle lighter than I was looking for. A better rod for eels but less backbone.

FYI... The RS SW1088 is VERY close to the old sabre 1088's. the SU1088 is very close to the all-star 1088's. At least this is what I have been told by people that have used both.
