I have had very good luck using Superlube. I use it on everything. What I like about it is that dirt dosen't seem to stick to it. I use on Guns, Reels,Stormwindows and doors, i even use it indoor door hinges and locks. JMO

Ya I have tried it without the antireverse, I really can't get used to it, I rarely fish plugs with this reel. Its my eel setup and when I setup on a fish the anti-reverse comes in handy even if it is just a back up in case your hand slips or something like that.

Don't use vaseline it will melt in summertime. Not a problem I suppose if it's sealed tight but they usually aren't.

I packed my 704 greenie w/ super lube. was alright until Nov. then the anti-reverse went, grease got really heavy when cold and held the dog back. I for one am going to relearn to love the sound of a clicker this season.
