don't necessarily match the reel to your rod, but your reel to your target species, their size, and fishing area.

that rod can handle anything in the vs line from a 150 to a 250. if you intend to be able to handle sb to 30# or better, fish around hvy structure or jetties, than a 200 or 250 might be better. if you intend to fish slightly lighter braid, lighter lures, lighter currents, than a 150 might be ideal. also, consider what your next purchase might be in a rod, longer and more powerful or lighter and shorter or about the same length. will the reel you are considering be able to handle that rod as well or will you consider upgrading to another vs? if you buy another vs, consider skipping a reel size in between, such as buying a 150 and 250 for 2 reels, or buying a 200 and 300.

some things to consider. you really need to decide what reel is best for you.
