reason i asked is because....a lab mix
or a hunting dog breed kinda is mental without
some kind of hobby / purpose and i've found
that if you make fetching a ball or 6-8 inch
rubber ring.... a daily thing.....
it's easy to both exercise them
and keep them happy...

Arrow two

ya take a pup that size ,,,,ok

you thread a closeline rope threw a tennis ball

with two razor blade slits in it...

one is 1/4 inch wide for knotted rope
the other is one inch wide (opposite side)
for stuffing it with
doggy beef jerky pieces - 1 inch wide

let dog smell tennis ball full of jerky on rope
then feed doggy pieces of jerky

til it wants ball , (play keep away)
then throw ball and reel in pup
feed pup jerky when she gets to you each time
with ball ...saying (emphasizing the word) "what"
"what a good dog..."

repeat until rope isnt needed....anymore

Get one from a shelter, any shelter.
I grew up with mutts from Angel Memorial/MSPCA.
Every last one of them.
Do you want a hunting dog?
The trendiest; most popular dog to have?
(English Bulldogs right now.)
$1600 to start. From a breeder.
Or just a family pet?
Mutts usually have much better personalities than purebreds.

Here is my take on dogs.
I LOVE Boxers, and have spent big $ on the ones I have had. pure bread, champion blood lines ect...
But for the most part, pure bread dogs live shorter lives, why I have no Idea, but they do end up getting things like cancer, heart problems ect...
more than mutts!
Getting a mutt from a pound can be a crap shoot !
Lots of times, you get a great dog that is great with kids/people, lives a long healthy life,ect...
but lots of dogs who end up in pounds have been neglected, abused and beaten by previous owners and could end up being problems with things like biting people !
Hope you find a good one Don !
