Don't know.I'm sure the north shore was putting out some fish but the vast majority were comin around pogue and down the southside.Once they got to there they sorta slowed down and hung around for a bit. It's hard to say.I didn't go up by gayhead or squibnocket at all.Tisbury pond was open but it wasn't fishing any better than anywhere else.Got some fish there a couple of times. There was hardly anyone fishing anywhere's.Most nights I saw no one or maybe one or two guys at the most. You just had to hang in there at a spot
that was producing. If you did you caught the better fish. There was really no pattern to it.Other than fish light terminal tackle, and avoid the bright nights as much as possible. Sometimes the bite was in broad daylight too.Third place bass(29 lbs.) in the Octoberfish was caught by a friend of mine in the middle of the day with bait at the right fork on the top of the tide.(That's not at all unusual anymore by the way.)Plugging and flies was not anywhere's near as effective but you could get some fish if you kept trying and moving around.I had a real good fish on At Wasque one night on an outgoing. But I was fishing a fairly light casting rod with 15 .lb test and no leader with a yellow swimmer.I had put two or three decent bass on the beach and should have checked the line before I kept fishing.
Pretty sure it was a bigger fish cause of the way it stopped the plug.First I thought I was snagged, than I'm thinking wait a minute I'm at Wasque, they're's nothing to snag here.By time I figured that out it was too late, I got popped off right smartly as they used to say.
I did catch some little bass in pretty much any spot I tried but I think you'll do better size wise sticking to the southside.
