if iran was smart they'd get a leader who'd embracing free market approaches that don't exclude the western world ... economic growth leads to rising global stature (remember it's the economy stupid). UN economic sanctions tend to get in the way of that progress.
and as we've seen in the far east, when economic fermentation happens, socio-political fermentation is not too far behind.
