Movie for Today.. The Departed
There might have been a thread on this movie. I wanted to see it in the theatre.. but missed it.. Watched it last night.. Pissah Movie.. loosely based on the Winter Hill Mob.. A lot of Bahston area Irish humor buried in there.. great dialouge.. I actually watched it twice, and was glad I did.. missed a lot the first time.. the under cover aspect is great, from both perspectives....
Happy St. Paddys Day...

My buddy made me buy it and I watched it last Sunday night. Great Movie!!!! There were a few surprises and that was refreshing as most movies are almost totally predictable. Not this. (at least I didn't find it to be)

It's on the Comcast line-up and I can't wait to watch it - just have to squeeze it in between NCAA hoops.

Very good movie. Although given the behavior of some of the characters, I'd be a little embarrased if I was a member of the Mass State Troopers.

I was a little confused by the State Trooper's role (Matt Damon). Seemed as if he was actually portraying FBI agent John Connelly rather than a Statie. From what I've heard and read it was the Mass State Police who were working hard to take down Whitey but were hampered by the Feds. I know at least one Statie was indicted in the whole deal but he seemed to be more of a background figure. No mention of a politician brother either. The movie was really good but if you expected to see the Whitey Bulger story this wasn't it.

Anyone else catch Boondock Saints on TV last night? It was edited for television but it didn't matter to me. I was hammered for St. Patty's Day!!

It was good (7/10), but if Scorcese didn't win it all for Goodfellas, I don't get why he won it for this movie. I guess they like all those little twists.
Nicholson was weak. Marky Mark did well.

Goodfellas did blow Departed away. Nobody does the mob like DeNiro and Pesce "Ma, can I borrow this knife?"

Best movie I have seen for a while. I though it was funny that marky mark was nominated for an Oscar for playing a Boston thug.
