Try the X tubing. It is great stuff. M&Ds carries it

I have two Loomis rods with the rough tape, and between the two of them they are used for most of my fishing. I have never had it bother my hands  It is shredding the stiching and pilling the neoprene of my Rampage top between my side and on the sleeve where I hold the butt though |
