I still fish Atoms, lots of people do. The big one is as good or better than any custom wood plug that I own or make, the medium makes a first rate skin plug.

F-Jim Very nice collection of Atoms.
MAC's right, that clear with the blue head is pretty nice. I cant ever recall seeing one before.

Funny thing is I too have a bunch of Atoms, but I dont even remember how i got most of them. I dont remember ever buying any. I even have some of the unique ones that the body was cut open to create a spashing effect. But the strange thing is, in my 30 years of fishing. at no time do I ever remember using an atom lure much less ever catching a fish on one. I guess it boiled down to never really liking them or thinking they were some kind of googan plug.

have I missed out on using some of the best plugs to be found?

Remember when everyone used these

That's a nice collection. I have a few of those myself. The blue and white swimmers in small and medium were worth there weight in gold to the tarpon fisherman in Key West when I fished down there about 25 yrs. ago. The pink and yellow was and still is my favorite sprinf plug here in the mid-cape area. When we were kids we liked to say "pink and yellow.....catch a big fellow".
