Fishsmith, that was really the point, every boater knows until you have some hands-on experience with engines you really can't figure out how it works or what could the problem be no less fix it at sea.
My wife said why not just get a new one? (when she saw the entire motor in parts soaking in degreaser. I said half the reason you do this is to let him get "into" it and understand how this works. I know a new little 4 stroke would be better set up but this thing has character and will look great on my restored 1964 Dyer Dhow. A kid have have a lot of fun with a gallon of gas with a dingy in a salt pond.
