The only advice I will give you is to lower the air pressure to at least16 pounds and drive in low gear. If you feel the vehicle straining, lower the pressure a couple of pounds. Low and Slow isn't just a slogan. Also - stay off the backside dune until you are sure of your abilities. It is pretty soft and steep.
They'll give you a ticket if you are over 12psi. Doesn't matter what kind of tire or vehicle. Go with 15 if you want, just don't get caught. When are you planning on heading out?? It's really a piece of cake.
