he wants a long surf rod like 10 ft tall. hmm, ill check that out guys. any more suggestion?

How much are the Tri-Flex rods going for? They can't be all that much more than $150?

Quarrow makes some decent rods in the $150 price range, too. Mike CC has some at the shop if your friend can get down to Wareham.

I second the Quarrow recommendation.

I own a 10'er and a 704.Trust me they go well together.
