I use salt-x (boaters world) or salt terminator (BassPro shops) to clean my gear, after I fish I soak my plugs for 10 minutes then rinse them off with freshwater and hang them to dry before putting them back into their boxes. I never have to replace hooks or split rings because of corrosion and it also keeps the reels nice and pretty too! I use a misting bottle with the salt-x solution, spray my reels and rods down then rinse them off with freshwater. obviously I don't do this all the time only when time permits, which is most of the time.
