Let's try this
I am making up a sign that says:
"access to fishing spots is dependent on the condition in which we leave the areas we all fish, please pick up your trash."
I am having it done in at least four or five languages. When you see it posted here take it to your local bait shop and have them post it in a good spot.
So far I have it in:
English
Khmer (cambodian)
I need the language in portugese, chinese and whatever language anyone else thinks that will cover a majority of our fishing population.
We can't do them all so I don't want to hear any bitchin and moaning. This is an honest attempt to do the right thing on this issue. Just give me another 2 or three languages. Thanks

There is a prominent fishing club that routinely dumps its fish scraps on the shoreline, which I have vbeen told, is illegal. I see it everytime I fish. They should know better.

I GENERALLY get the ignorant white folks freshwater fishing... and see the same things gets me just as mad.

I think English, Spanish, Portugese, Cambodian and Chineese would suffice...will the be laminated?
I would volunteer to put up a few at popular spots in Westerly that have this problem. Maybe even tie off some garbage bags near it and add a caption something along the lines of "If you see fishing related litter laying around please take a minute to use these bags to dispose of it properly."
The bags may be taken for other reasons, but at least it's another step to promote this and isn't much of an expense.

here is the spanish translation.
el “acceso a los puntos de la pesca es dependiente en la condición en la cual nos dejamos a áreas todos los pescados, toma por favor su basura.”
this the the portugese:
o “acesso aos pontos da pesca é dependente da circunstância em que nós nos deixamos às áreas todos os peixes, escolhe por favor acima seu lixo.”

OK OK OK
Let me make this a bit more PC. To be fair, I have observed slobs of all races, colors and creeds along the RI shore in the more than 20 years I have been fishing it. I simply made my remarks based on the fact that I have observed the amount of litter increasing as the number of Asians fishing has increased. To support this, I have also personally observed many instances of Asians making a mess while fishing. My statements on Asian culture not valuing nature enough to respect it and the laws which protect it was based on several observations I have made over the years. Asian cultures have disregarded international bans on whaling. Asian cultures support the killing of endangered tigers for medicinal purposes. Asian cultures support the killing of bears around the world for medicinal purposes. Asian cultures support the killing of rhinos for medicinal purposes. Asian fishermen travel the world in search of seafood that is no longer available near their shores due to over fishing. Perhaps I let these behaviors lead me to think Asians don’t respect the natural environment. Perhaps I am misinformed and should not speak stereotypically. Perhaps we should all speak to all of the slobs we see trashing our fishing areas before it is too late.

I think that would be Mexican...ask any Mexican-American, there is a big difference LOL.
Enough with the politically correct and stereotype arguements. I'm all for getting people to pick up after themselves, but to be successful, we need to be more than 1 strong making the effort to promote this.

I am forced to agree that asians are dirty people but to be fair it is not only outdoors it is also in their own homes. I did a counter demo at a guys house once and my hands felt greasy for a week not to mention all the rat/mouse %$%$%$%$ I found in the cabinets. This is as bas as when trying to fish sweetwater and the blacks let their bobbers drift in front of you then ask to keep whatever you catch. This doesnt need to turn completely into a racial thing but I want to hear peoples honest opinions about how they feel. If you have any problems with what I have said please feel free to PM me and I will give you some examples of things that have happened that make me feel this way.
Alex
EDIT** Send some of those signs my way!!

this stereotyping of Asians as litterbugs is sad. Its not the Asians that are the problem, its the scup fishing mentality.. whites, blacks, asians, europeans... every one loves to leave their crap behind when they sucp fish.. The whole family comes down, they set up camp and they usually keep every scup they catch, fillet them, and throw back the frames to get rid of the evidence. When they leave, they leave everything. The trash from their lunch, the chitty diapers, the bait boxes, the snarled up mono...
Do all people of asian descent litter? no, but it is those who do who give a bad name for all of them, however, it is not just people of asian decent.

I think that is about enough with the generalizations

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.
