even if u dont get too cold, the water temps off the coast of rhody and mass dont get much warmer than 67-68 so i agree with a 5mm wetsuit. it makes it much easier to stay out for a few more hours maybe if u go with the whole suit instead of just the farmer john. good luck to ya. gotta know the waters too when ure wetsuitin, its a whole new ballgame
