You can always take the family down to the Coast Guard Station. The beach is OK and you never know what might turn up in the channel. Bass won't be big, but there's always fluke, blues, and at that time of year maybe even a bone or FA. Might be crowded in August though.

Thanks for the input guys worste case I can always just hang out for the day and leave the fishing behind for once.It is hard being nere the water and not fishing.
