Deepwater Port?

Living in the western part of state, this project has totally escaped me. Does anyone see how this is going to affect the bank's fishery, and what about access? There must be some very strict boundries both now and after it gets put to use in 2009? Just wondering?

Is this about the offshore offloading for the LPG proposed for Gloucester?

The LNG off-loading, floating, Gateway is correct. Their web site says a lot of work in underway, 200' plus under the surface. Was wondering if anyone has traveled by and what their thoughts might be.

It does not make much sense to me. They built an eyesore LNG terminal on the Mystic River a few years ago. Plans for expansion should have been incorporated then. From what I understand, the inner Harbor can accomodate tankers with drafts up to 35 feet, they should just dredge the harbor as they have been doing for centuries. Why prop one of those things up where the water is actually blue?

If you have ever seen one of those humungus tankers going under the Mystic River Bridge the offshore site makes a whole lot of sense. One powerful rocket into that ship and you can kiss beantown g'bye.
