Gilly, you could have a cherry tree. They are quite common and get pretty big.

Actually Ed,

These berrys are the size of a cherrys' PIT. They are very small single berrys, not like the berry/bunch-like formation of a blackberry or mulberry....??.....I built a house on an old apple orchard, I still have a couple of crab/apple trees but I can't find a name for this one.
