free virus protection
does anybody have a link to any good free virus protection sites?
I have McAfee and believe it is messing up my web browsing....they sent out a bad update....I removed it and am looking for something free...
Do I even need it??

My brother in law just cleaned up a laptop and installe AVG, said its free and good...

avg. I ripped out norton after the umpteethn crash and being sick and %$%$%$%$ing tired of losing info and time to their %$%$%$%$ crap program.
Bossman told me AVG a long time ago and i resisted. I finally wised up and did it and will NEVER look back. I think I got the pro version or something like that though that I paid for.
Whatever you do don't use norton or mcafee. BOTH are CRAP.

By far the best free av out there is Avira's AntiVir PE Classic.Its better than most pay programs.

Avast and AVG miss way to much.Avira's AntiVir is MUCH better.

I have Avast on all my computers 3 desk tops and 1 laptop and it has never let me down!
Got Rid of Norton and McAfee long ago!! it amazes me they sell that crap and people buy it and it doesn't even do 1/2 of what the free stuff does!
