I think late summer brings in a lot of bait. When I think fall run, I think fish on the move "out" of the area. This time of year usually brings bait and fish into the shore, but not on the move south.
The run starts when the bait moves out and the fish with it.

Last year, there were a few instances when big bass pushed macks to the beach and it was a hey day ... for anyone with metal ... now that I am armed with Pt. Judes ... you bet I will be there every chance, day and night with my wood and metals, as I don't want to skip a beat ... reels getting respooled this week, new leaders tide up, etc.

Fall run-- 07
Lots of bait around. Let's wait and see. Anything can happen! Hopefully it's better than last fall and most of this past season.

It better be good. The good news is, there is more bait around than I can remember.

In my past experience, no one can tell how it's gonna be. Sometimes they go by on the outside. Saw it happen a number of years.
Mullet run in SoCo around the 15 of Sept. then it's hope for the peanut bunker to show up and stick. if they move quickly the fish will move with them. I prefer to stick with the places i know and not chase the birds and the reports.
Bass key on the amount of daylight so they have a set schedule they have been doing for 1000 years. it doesn't happen early or late. It happens pretty much on the same schedule it always has.

I am seriously praying for an epic Fall. This Spring and Summer has been tireing and dissapointing to say the least. My boys are coming to Truro the first week in Oct. and I pray for a trip for them to remember...

Ton of bait around. we need a fairly non-stormy fall though... seems like out of the last 5 years or so I can remember, the stormy falls, the bait stayed offshore... maybe it was just where I fished...
