fish crashing the shore

saw a cool sight last night.... got to the water and started walking along to my spot, look down at the water and the fish were crashing the bait into the shore... wouldnt touch a thing, there was probably a good 200' of shoreline being pounded on and we only managed 3 fish... they were absolutely GORGING... real fatties..

wouldnt touch a thing.. i used every small plug/popper/tin i had.. definitely keyed on the bait.

what killed me more, is at one point, i did get a follow right up to the shore, it turned on my plug in about 1' of water 2' in front of me and couldnt take it, it had to have been over 40".... that one killed me.

then dark hit, and we swapped to eels.. not even a sniff...
made me sad... but it was still REALLY cool to see.

Sounds great, but strange...was there anything that was not in your bag that you thought might have done the trick?

a little snag hook would have done the trick. they are really picky when they are on those tiny tiny tiny peanuts.

live to fish. fish to live. rod tips high.
