It's not just you I was on the beach tuesday night and a small school was pushing bait on the beach.The guy next to me gets a small schoolie and as it's flopping on the beach tries to grab the plug.Fish jumps front treble sinks deep in his hand.I casted in the school and only got a bump or two.

if the bait is small, try something like a 5 in. red fin or small bomber. Often they won't look at a bigger lure. I have had relatively good success with the small red fin when the fish are picky. Also try adding a teaser. In any case, sometimes that is just the way things go... oh and if it is daylight the small superstrike little neck popper is killer (so is the little habs if you got 'em )
