macey, a lot depends on where you intend to fish, how the currents are there, and the depth of the water. wire is better for trolling and lead core is better for live lining deep. stick w/ penn as far as wire goes. use the chrome spools. 113h is a solid choice, but again, it depends on those conditions i mentioned above. use a dacron backing under the wire. don't use graphite rods for wire. stick to solid or tube glass and use either carboloy or sic guides. trolling more than 4 rods at one time is not smart.

you really can't have this type of rod and use it for tuna. a wire line rod for stripers is just that. you need another outfit for tuna. a 113h could work, but a 114h or int'l is better.
