I know last year there was talk on expanding the border beyond Narragansett to include the east side of the state (Jamestown, Newport, etc....) Any word on this?

No luck. They're still scared to let Newport County fish their home waters. Look at what happens in the spring challenge.

At least it's not a 2 hour round trip for me to weigh a fish anymore though...

Way back when the scope of the tournament was just Watch Hill to the hard side of Charlestown. One of the goals of the organizers, and a principal reason for having the tournament, was to bring clubs together. Limiting the area made it more likely that guys from different clubs would meet each other. It has since been expanded from Napatree to the Narrow River, but is still limited at least in part for that same reason.
