Actually Dr. "J" was probably the 1st one to start palming the ball. He was amazing to watch....I was a young'un but I'm pretty sure that style of play came over from the ABA

He is one of the original palmer of the ball. He had gigantic hands, which is needed for actual palming of the ball. He was unbelievable. Ultimate streetball player. 28 year old rookie, because of a scandal. Only 6' 9" Dr. J probably learned a lot from watching him. Remember Larry Nance. He kind of reminded me of Hawkins, although more athletic. Same kind of body though , 1" taller.
