It's funny, I remember all the talk of BPS opening and impacting the business of local shops....I went up ther the other day and didn't spend a dime....and not because I didn't want to either. I almost bought a color Jumpin Minnow that looked promising just to say I got something there but put it back when I saw the checkout lines. Bottom line, go if you want to look at the stuffed animals and fish and maybe because it is supposed to be 40,000 sq tackle shop, but not because you're trying to find gear that is more relevent to NE saltwater fishing than what is stocked at your local shop.

Went there on Black Friday looking to actually spend some money but couldn't. The saltwater section was nonexistent and the employees I chatted with knew next to nothing about fishing. I'm willing to bet that by springtime the saltwater section will be more extensive though, in all fairness its not really fishing season, and they did seem to have a lot of hunting related gear which should be expected this time of year. A cool experience though, not often you see a forty foot sportfishing boat indoors as part of a display, and more stuffed dead things than you can poke a stick at. I'm still optimistic that they'll get their sh*t together, but I'll still buy a lot of my tackle from Surfland and some of the sponsors here.

I've been there 2 times already. Both times I made purchases of either shooting or hunting gear. I like the store and am glad they are here.

Went there on Black Friday with son #2 on the way home after Thanksgiving. Tried to buy some stuff, until we saw the checkout line. Said f-this don't need it that bad. I'd rather purchase online.
