I hate to be judgemental but what the hell is this obsession with chasing fish in December???

IT"S OVER!!!!!
Go chase holdovers in the rivers and powerplants. The majority of the fish have left the surf in SoCo or MA.

IT's OVER!!!!

I'm sorry. It is just making me crazy seeing the same posts from the same guys saying the same thing. "There was loads of bait and birds diving but no fish." Well, if there is loads of bait, there will be birds diving. That's what they EAT!!!

Read a few books on Bass and you will find out that:

1) Bass are phototropic. They respond in direct correlation to the amount of daylight available. The little clock in their little brain say "Not as much daylight, time to go South".

2) Bass are temperature sensitive. When the water temp drops below 50 degrees the majority of the fish leave. There maybe a small pod or a stray still lagging behind but for the most part 50 degrees in the magic number. that's why the crew that fishes the West Wall in the Spring wait for 50 degree water on a SW wind in the afternoon.

No boat, back in the suds.

The last good fish I got was on 10/28. I fished one night after that for the skunk and that was it for me. Yes, a couple good fish were taken after that, but it was 95% done by November 1 for large in most of Mass and RI. It always is. The hard core regulars will still eek out a few late season big fish, but my sweet spot is May 15 through Nov. 1.

It's not the bait
At the end of your line
It's the fishing hole
Where all the fish is blind
