I like to fish 'em, Chris. I also learn things that make me a better builder and improve my own designs (for example, did you know that BM needles are off center drilled from each end to allow the use of a heavier deeper placed nose weight?) . I agree, though, that at the end of the day what you turn out of your own design is a more meaningful measure of your building/fishing skill. It is just that I know my own designs will be much better if I learn as much as I can from the best builders that proceeded me, rather than depend only on trial and error and tweaking to get there. Thanks for bringing the issue up.
