In my younger days, I traveled up and down the striper coast, from Plum Island (Mass) to Sandy Hook, sleeping in the camper by day and fishing by night., always in search of "blitz".... And when the weekend or vacation was over, I drove back with all the other "tourists" to rest and recover all week...

Now that I'm older and a little wiser, I tend to leave the traveling to those less fortunate or more adventurous, I've learned something that Dorothy and Toto learned from their adventure... there's no place like home... the fish may arrive here latter, and leave earlier, but Garrage to boat is 30 minutes,my own warm/comfortable bed and hot shower just a short drive from the fishing grounds, if I dont want to fish the boat, I can be standing in the suds or rock hopping in the same amount of time..... I spend more time fishing productive tides and moon phases and less time aggrivating the calcium in my shoulder joints... And when my traveling cohorts retrun from their exhausting chase... I simply tell 'em.. ya shoulda been here last night!......
