Just because you and BassDawg are going back and forth about this I wouldn't say the whole board is saying this. I'm pretty sure most of the board members here feel it was a bad loss and screwed them up for immortality and I haven't seen them jawing about how great 18-1 is either.

wrikerjr, i doan think that you are getting my drift.
My point was about the perception that professional atheletes must maintain to perform at their highest levels of execution possible. I am speaking from and intangible perspective. From the type of mental toughness that is required to continue to "live the dream" and to "finish the task" set before them by their own inner fires.
The fires of drive, dedication, and discipline are stoked by victory and defeat. They are never extinguished and they can be fueled by many variables the middle of which is the outcome of THE GAME. The great ones don't dwell on their triumphs or their defeats, instead they put them on the appropiate shelf and use them for the pursuit of their ultimate GOAL, A Championship!!!
While I agree that this one HURT and that they will be feeling it, true Dynasties are measured by the ways in which they handle the diversity that they will ALL face. BB will look at himself objectively, hopefully, and they will be the better team for it ~and in that event the rest of the League beware, because the FU2 Tour has already begun and the wagons are circling as we speak...............
Inconsequential, I think NOT! These Patriots will not fold up shop like the Rams before them, and the Cowboys of the 90's. We are currently in the middle of what most lucid and educated experts agree is a Dynasty of epic and historic proportions. Does this latest debacle effect them? Most assuredly! Will they allow it to define them? Most definitely, NOT!!

I get your drift, i am just not buying it, but I am fully understanding what you are saying. Its ok if we disagree
FYI, if i came to say that the patriots became inconsequential I apologize, that is truly the last thing that I meant to say. I wanted to make the point that this season was inconsequential. That I truly honestly believe. I hope that the patriots can bounce back, because I truly believe that team has a chance to do some remarkable things, with the core that you have, but all things in the future depend on the decisions you make today (i.e., what do you do with dp#7, franchise moss, stallworth, etc.). Time will tell, many things happened to football teams especially dynsaty's that you can't predict.
I know all about devistating losses, so don't worry about it as a fan, when people bring it up it will get better with time.
the one piece I am interested in is, I want to see how Moss reacts to it, because he is the one piece that I am concerned may revert back to his old ways, hopeully not because brady to moss is something great for the game.

Willie certainly had a lot of green on him. Can anybody confirm (I think I read this in a NY paper and I forgot the Pats D player's name) that one of the Patriots told the Giants O line that they didn't have a chance to drive down the field and win the game? That they were welcome to come to Foxboro for the parade? Prob. just BS, but if this guy said it, man that takes some intestinal fortitude...

That's cool, wrikerjr, and your points were well made and you are a true fan of Football and its highest pinnacle. I too feel that BB has sum splainin' to do..................
My apologies as well, if anyone else was offended by my over-the-topness when it comes to stating my points. Doan rightly know if it's a blessing or a curse, but I have always loved a "good and fair arguement" between reasonable people. Prolly should've been a lawyer, but i partied waaaaay tooo much at University.
Part of this also, is the way in which i participate when it comes to my fandom. I've always been an athelete, and come from atheletic parents, so when it comes to sports i am very competetive, sometimes to a fault. However, i seem to fit in with the craziness that is Boston Sports Fandom, as these people are as mental as me ~for the most part. Just gotta remember that, not everyone shares my same enthusiasm
Thanks gents, for your understanding and allowing the beast within to be unleashed..............within, reason.
