Dude,
For the record, I bought a Penn 11' Slammer from a kid I used to work with like 8 years ago for like $30; he was upgrading to a Seeker. I just forked over the cash and never asked why he was getting rid of it.
I saw him 2 years ago paddling a canoe through Barnstable harbor as my younger brother was fishing next to me with the same rod.
He coudn't stop laughing because I hadn't thrown that rod away yet!
Don't buy the Penn rod (reels are great though).
